Why does modern mainstream social media seem to reward the mediocre, at the expense of the talented, passionate and successful?
Why does social media value a person’s political opinions, higher than their actions, deeds and achievements?
Current social media platforms are rife with problems and I am more than happy to list a dozen more:
Bots.
Deep fakes.
Political bias.
Excessive political rhetoric.
Paid political messaging.
Advertorials.
Echo chambers.
Fake news.
Little to no reward for content creation.
Political censorship.
Self-censorship.
Data exploitation.
Some will manage to navigate the pitfalls of modern social media, monetise their brand and build personal financial success. Unfortunately, most will fail in this attempt and for some, the fall will be monumental.
Granted, Substack is solving many of the problems I have mentioned. Which is all well and good, if you are a talented author, with the time to run a blog. These people can build a following through their writings and podcasts and monetise this content.
However, what about our Sports people, our Musicians, our Inventors, our Artists and other individuals - who might be giants in their chosen fields, but lack the time and maybe education to monetise these talents as a blog.
Then along comes…
VirtualStax
VirtualStax purports to be a digital GLOBAL TALENT EXCHANGE and perhaps the world’s first.
People 4 People - VitualStax is peer-to-peer talent monetisation.
VirtualStax operates similar to a stock exchange - only instead of companies listing to raise capital for business purposes - individuals (Stars) list themselves and their talents, for the purpose of funding their chosen careers.
Investors, traders, supporters and fans (Fans) can all participate in the initial auction and the secondary exchange market. This firstly provides financial benefit to the Star and secondly offers the chance for the investor to financially benefit from the Star’s success.
Instead of purchasing ‘SHARES’ in a company, Fans purchase ‘STAX’ in their Star.
STAX can be bought, sold or held. Meaning Fans can trade with the intention of making quick profits; or, hold as a long term investment; or, even hold for the ongoing connection and the exclusive content of the Star.
VirtualStax has released the following 3 minute promo video to give you a feel for this Global Talent Exchange.
So why am I writing about VirtualStax in the context of a Social Media Platform? Answer - because this is exactly what it is.
Aside from talent funding, VirtualStax is a social media platform where Stars and Fans will connect, without the majority problems noted above.
And where Stars and Fans meet, communities will naturally form.
And where communities form, so too do economies.
So this is where I add, VitualStax is built upon a decentralised public ledger - more commonly known as - blockchain.
And not just any blockchain - Telos. Quite possibly the world’s quickest, most advanced and most decentralised blockchain
So what is a internet based user-interface and social media platform built on monetised decentralised ledger called? Indeed - Web3.0!
Now let’s be honest - everyone, has some sort of talent. You. Me. Everyone. And everyone has fans out there that we are still waiting to meet.
So how long will the Stars and Fans of the world continue to persist with current Web 2.0 social media platforms - when they can monetise themselves immediately on Web 3.0?
Another 5 years? Another 2 years? Another 12 months?
Personally - I don’t know. However, as an expert and influencer in all things Gold, Telos and Chickens - I can’t afford to miss this boat.
So in summary - I am very, very pleased to announce - my initial STAX auction begins in 26 days.
More to come from me over the next few weeks and Stars with much more talent, going up for auction before me.
I hope to see you at VirtualStax soon.
Goldsmith.
